The Antichrist (Part 3):

HIS ACTS (con’t)

Revelation 6:1-11: "And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see. And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer. And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see. And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword. And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine. And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see. And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth. And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled." [Emphasis added]

These four horses describe how the Antichrist will rise and rule the world. Him seated on the white horse holding a bow without arrows indicates that he will conquer. Since it is without arrows, he will use peace as his weapon of conquest! The world clamours for peace now that it is in great chaos. Global chaos will become extremely intolerable so that the world’s yearning for peace will escalate exponentially and be begging someone to rise up and give them peace.

Once world power is within his grasp, he will rule with an iron fist. All who oppose him will be killed without mercy, as symbolized by him sitting on the red horse. Global famine will ensue and economic crisis will be as a pandemic. When people are starved, their skin will blacken. This is symbolized by the Antichrist sitting on the black horse.

The Antichrist will dominate the world, and some nations will rebel against him (as his kingdom will not be united – mixture of clay and iron). Wars will break out as he consolidates. These will be the initial resistance to his reign and many will die. Christians will be targeted as they will not bow in worship to him. Many will die for the faith because the Antichrist will hunt them down like animals. They will not be able to buy or sell without the mark of the Antichrist. Therefore they will die of starvation for the cause of Christ. They will be betrayed as well by friends and loved ones for the sake of Christ.

Revelation 13:3-10: "And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. If any man have an ear, let him hear. He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints."

The Antichrist is an imitator of Christ. One of the best and most effective ways to do so is to imitate the resurrection. The one who has power over death has to be God. Therefore the Antichrist will be “as it were wounded to death.” The world will be told that he died. Then he will be “raised from the dead” to deceive the world. The world will “wonder”, i.e. marvel after the beast. He will claim Scriptural support by coining rhetorical questions that are meant for Christ alone. He will hijack them for himself. These questions include, “Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?”

The ultimate goal is the worship of the dragon, i.e. Satan. The Antichrist will accomplish this successfully when he attributes the power of his “resurrection” to the Devil. The Devil will be worshipped as God which was what he wanted before he was cast out of heaven. What he failed to accomplish in heaven, he will accomplish on earth by evil deception. He will speak great things about himself and the Antichrist, and at the same time blaspheme the one living and true God and all that He has done. He will make war with the saints even as they will refuse to worship him and expose him as the Antichrist. God will let the Antichrist succeed and many saints will die for their faith and enter heaven in their resurrected bodies. The ones who will die and those who will survive and be taken into captivity are in the sovereign hands of the loving God.

Revelation 16:13-14:"And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty."

Spiritual battles are hidden and invisible to the naked eye. But in the final moments of the Antichrist’s kingdom, he with the power of the dragon, i.e. Satan backing him and his side-kick the False Prophet will unleash his final assault on the kingdom of Christ. All his global armies, physical and demonic, will be assembled to battle against all that is holy including God Himself! By this revelation, perhaps more sinners will come to know Christ as Lord and Saviour, especially those who do not have the mark of the beast on them. 

Revelation 16:16-17: "And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon. And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done."

The place of this final gathering for battle against God will be at the Valley of Jezreel; it is also called the battle of Armageddon. Literally, it means Mount Megiddo. Mount Megiddo is the most well-known and desirable mountain of all the mountains surrounding the largest flat land in all Israel, the valley of Jezreel. His global armies that will probably number in the millions [when they die by the hand of Christ, the blood that flows in that valley will rise to the bridle of the horse] will assemble in that valley before they attack Jerusalem. This will be where the final battle on earth will occur. It will also be the final defeat of man’s kingdom that culminates in the kingdom of the Antichrist.
