Nobody can achieve spiritual victory for us. We have to achieve it personally. It is when our individual faith and trust in the Lord have not been in vain. All we have to sacrifice and endure in order to bear a holy witness for Christ will be worth it. And then, without a doubt, our Lord will welcome us at His pearly gates.

1. Location of the spiritual victory (Rev 15:1)

The location of the spiritual victory is the earth in the final period of the last days. The seven vial judgments will be filled to the brim with God’s wrath and unleashed at the end of the Great Tribulation till the nations of humanity cease to exist. Then Christ will rule and reign on earth during the millennial kingdom.

The location for us to evaluate our spiritual victory will not be in heaven, but on earth, in a dangerous spiritual battlefield surrounded by falsehoods, false christs, false prophets, false churches and, during the tribulation, people having the mark of the beast. We are currently in a world where such a scenario is not so overt. Because of the subtlety of the present deception, we tend to have a lackadaisical attitude towards those who are in sin and are heading in the wrong direction. We do nothing to reach out to, admonish or rebuke them. The battleground may be quiet, but warfare is present nevertheless. It is just not an open warfare. Understand the importance of having fervency and zeal when earnestly contending for the faith. We cannot be lazy or half-hearted in holding onto, and defending, our faith, deceiving ourselves that we are living in peaceful time.

2. The spiritual victory of God’s servants (Rev 15:2)

When God’s servants hold on to their faith and trust in their Lord Jesus Christ according to Scripture, without compromising, even when they have to lose their lives in the process, they attain spiritual victory. Spiritual victory is breathing our very last breath on this earth as an obedient child of God.

3. The experience of spiritual victory (Rev 15:3-4)

The context of “the song of Moses” (Rev 15:3) is God’s children and Moses experiencing God’s deliverance at the Red Sea. This song is sung when we have a personal, intimate experience of God in our lives. The “song of the Lamb” (Rev 15:3) emphasises the finished work of Christ on Calvary as our sacrifice and our experience of salvation. The servants of God will sing these songs as God gives them the heart conviction to hold onto the inner man even when they face death.
