Today, the devil’s battleground is both in heaven and on earth. He fights against God’s work and His people, and he desires as many unbelievers as possible not to worship God but to follow him to the Lake of Fire. He wants believers to be a bad testimony for God. One way he does this is by accusing them. In Job 2, he appeared before God and accused Job. In Revelation 12:10, “…the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.” Every man is born in sin, and is already doing the work and will of the devil, unless he is born again. Sadly, even believers at times go against God’s will and do the devil’s work, eg: Isaac wanted to bless Esau, even though Jacob is God’s choice for the messianic line. The devil can give people and other creatures the power and the ability to harm and hurt believers (eg: the devil possessed the serpent in the Garden of Eden). Believers are aware of the spiritual realm, and can see the spiritual battleground they are in. Can you?

Revelation 12:7-12 gives us a glimpse of what will happen to the devil and his demons (i.e. fallen angels) at the last phase of man’s existence on earth.

1. The battleground of the devil will change (Rev 12:7-9): In heaven, the devil is known as “dragon,” describing his ferocity. On earth, he is known as devil (slanderer, accuser) and Satan (adversary: one who obstructs believers from doing God’s will and work). He strives to stumble believers so that they will bear a bad testimony for God. Thus, we must quickly repent when sin arises in our inner man, so as not to damage our testimony. In heaven, Michael and the good angels will prevail, and the dragon and his demons will be cast out permanently from heaven. This is inferred to be at the mid-point of the Tribulation. Then, the world will truly be wicked, and no place on earth will be spared.

2. The battle can still be won (Rev 12:10-11): Believers can still win the battle (like today) by the blood of the Lamb and the Word of His testimony, but it will be at a high price. Believers’ lives may be lost because the environment then will be under the control of the Anti-Christ, the False Prophet and the devil. Salvation is of the Lord. Today, when the Holy Spirit moves you, do not procrastinate. Receive Jesus and be saved, today.

3. The battle’s woeful victims (Rev 12:12): The devil will redouble his efforts to deceive all on earth.

The world is in the midst of wars and rumours of wars. All signs are pointing to Christ’s imminent return. Check your salvation now. Church attendance and service in church are evidences of salvation, not means to salvation.
