Pastoral Letter 03 May 2026 My dear readers, Truth is Not Based on Democracy Proverbs 11:21: “Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.” The world sees democracy as the solution to all nations’ ills. Democracy means “the rule of the majority”. “People power” is the call of the day against the rule of the monarchy or the dictator. Since the invention of the printing press, modern education has enabled people across all levels of society to be educated. It replaced the rules of kings and queens once the general populace knew better, after books were printed cheaply and schools mushroomed worldwide. The more knowledgeable people become, the more determined they are to satisfy their hearts’ desire to fulfil their dreams. In the past, their dreams were limited to what they knew and did not know because they could not read or write. Their dreams were limited, and the elite who controlled the military and money power suffocated and punished them to keep them in servitude. These powerful and wealthy individuals held on to their fiefdoms tightly as they enjoyed their lives of sinful debauchery at the expense of millions of servants who cowered before their taskmasters in fear for their lives. But with education freely available, it was a matter of time before people power rose to the fore and overthrew their merciless taskmasters. The result in our present democratic world is that the majority rules according to their sinful hearts. If these rulers want to hold on to their powers in the next election, they had better satisfy the whims and fancies of the majority of the people, or else new leaders will simply replace them. Therefore, decisions will be made based on what the people think and want rather than what is right. Those days are gone when Europe, Britain and America were ruled by civil laws based on the Ten Commandments because God sent the Apostle Paul westward when he wanted to go east during his second missionary journey (Acts 16:7-10). The Western world is in this present state because of the impact and influence of Christianity for the past two thousand years. With the decline of Christianity at the turn of the 20th Century and the birth of the carnal Pentecostal-Charismatic movement in 1906, the ecumenical movement in 1948 (led by the World Council of Churches), and the neo-evangelical movement in 1948 (which is the deadliest of all because this movement is closest to the truth and the most difficult to discern its errors), the world and its system have infiltrated to the very core of its existence. Many in the churches today think that democracy dictates the truth. If the majority wants women ordained as pastors, then the women are ordained. The Holy Scriptures are misinterpreted to fit what the majority wants. If the majority believes that homosexuality is no longer a sin, even though the Bible categorically states that all practising homosexuals will never inherit the kingdom of heaven, then it is no longer a sin. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11: “9Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 11And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.” God states uncompromisingly in Proverbs 11:21a that “Though hand join in hand,” i.e. the majority, “the wicked shall not be unpunished”. God would have no issue if the majority is right. The problem with today’s Christianity is that the majority comprise professing believers only and not born-again believers. Their clamour for truth is from a depraved soul with an egocentric mind and a thoroughly carnal heart. Therefore, God warns that though they are in the majority, their deeds stemming from a wicked heart and mind will not be unpunished by the Almighty God, and they will all be sent to hell if they die in their sins. As far as the Almighty God is concerned, He will always judge based on His holiness and righteousness, that is, according to the Holy Scriptures. Mankind lives in God’s world. They must abide by God’s rules. They might try to “will Him out of existence” through foolish notions such as propounding the theory of evolution, which holds that man evolved through natural selection over millions and billions of years. These foolish notions of finite man are as powerful as the fool who stares at the noon-day sun, closes his eyes and declares that he has switched off the sun! Beware of the democratic wickedness. The thrice-holy God will punish all the wicked. Conversely, Proverbs 11:21b says that “the seed of the righteous will be delivered.” The “seed” refers to the children of the righteous. The righteous may be in the minority and persecuted for doing what is right according to God’s Word, but their children will be delivered from the bondage of sin when they see God’s work in the lives of their righteous parents who stand up for Christ and suffer for it. Teaching God’s Word through their righteous deeds is far more impactful than just teaching with their lips. The diabolical approach of the world keeps bombarding Christians with its propaganda methodically. There is no let-up. It has increased its speed of influence exponentially through the invention of the internet. Its reach is deadly and very subtle through the irreplaceable attachment of man for his handphone. It has become part of man like a third limb. He cannot leave home without it. He cannot live without it. His whole world will collapse if his handphone dies. Through this devilish device, the devil through the machinery of the world controls the minds and hearts of billions of men, women and children. The educational and entertainment systems grip the hearts and minds almost from birth. The economic world sows the seeds of deception, telling man that his present life must be measured by how much of the world he possesses. He must secure his future with as much wealth as possible or he will suffer and might lose his current standard of living. These are the carnal fears sown by the god of this world that he controls. The righteous must swim against this tide of majority rule in every aspect of their earthly life. With God’s help, through His holy Word, which is the light unto his path and a lamp unto his feet, he can remain righteous. The irreplaceable divine help of the indwelling Holy Spirit empowers the righteous with deeply rooted God-honouring convictions that will keep them in Christ till Christ returns. The righteous can stay the course of keeping and walking the straight and narrow path regardless of the seductive powers of the majority and their wicked threats to harm and hurt, and by not following their sinful ways. When the righteous persevere in their righteousness, the LORD promises that their seed will also be delivered from the wickedness of the majority. They have the light of Christ to guide them in this world of spiritual darkness. They know that they need not walk in the evil path of the wicked, though the majority continues to walk therein. They trust God to protect and provide. If persecution comes their way, they do not receive it as from sinful men, even though they are the protagonists, but will always receive it as from their loving God, who is the sovereign Controller of all things. If God does not allow these evil men to touch one hair on the heads of the righteous, these wicked people will not be able to do so. But if these evil men can harm or hurt their bodies, the righteous will receive it cheerfully as from the LORD, knowing that He has counted them worthy to suffer for Christ’s sake. Their sons and daughters will be delivered from the cunning devices of the wicked as God will open their eyes to His truth and save them unto Himself, for salvation is of the LORD. Remain righteous and keep walking in righteousness according to the Holy Scriptures, and the LORD will deliver your seed from the snares and deceit of the wicked, though the wicked are in the majority.
