Most people want to be victorious in their endeavours. Since young, we want to be the best we can. However, there is one enemy that no man on earth can defeat. This enemy is death. Death is no respecter of persons. All of us are helpless against this enemy. No matter how strong we are now, death will catch up with us.

1 Corinthians 15:55 refers to victory over death.

Death in the Bible is when a person dies in his sin and his soul goes to hell. No one can escape hell. But Jesus Christ came to save us from this sting of death. Do you have this victory over death?

When a Christian dies, the Bible describes the Christian to be asleep. The moment a Christian dies in Christ, his soul will enter paradise.

Christians need not fear death because their Saviour Jesus Christ already has victory over the sting of death. 1 Corinthians 15:56-57 teaches that this victory is a gift from God.

The Bible says that sting of death is sin and the law shows us how great a sinner we are. There is nothing we can do to earn our salvation and the victory over death. This victory is a gift through God’s grace and mercy. We were God’s enemies when Jesus Christ came to die for us. We must be grateful to God for enabling us to have victory over death, and we must respond according to 1 Corinthians 15:58: we must stand firm in Christ and keep serving Him. As we grow older, we may grow physically weaker but we must abound more and more in the Lord’s service.

While we have life on earth, our lives must bring blessings to those around us. We must spend our time here on earth wisely.

As we become more mature in the knowledge of God, we must increase in holiness and labour for the Lord.
