1 Corinthians 15 teaches us on the resurrection of Jesus. The chapter can be broken down as such: The Gospel of the Resurrection (vv 1-11), Importance of the Resurrection (vv 12-19), Firstfruit of the Resurrection (vv 20-28), Implications of the Resurrection (vv 29-34), Different Types of Resurrection Body (vv 35-50), and The Mystery of the Resurrection (vv 51-58). In today’s passage, the mystery of the resurrection is revealed by God to us through the Apostle Paul.

1. The Victorious Change (1 Cor 15:51-53)

This victorious change is for those who are in God’s kingdom. The change will happen very quickly, in the blink of an eye. A global trumpet would be sounded. Those who were dead in Christ would rise. Our body will change to become incorruptible. It will be different from our current weak, corruptible body. It will never fall sick or die again. It will live on forever. God will be the One to show forth His power to make this change.

2. The Victorious Truth (1 Cor 15:54-57)

The resurrection of Christ has guaranteed the change. Death is completely destroyed by Christ. We have victory in Christ for He is alive. When we are in Christ, sin no longer has the power to condemn us. This is our victory. It is all by God’s grace. This truth gives us assurance of what will happen to us when we die. This truth is the way to victory for everyone.

3. The Victorious Life (1 Cor 15:58)

For those of us who have known and accepted this truth, let us consider the way we live our lives now. We are to be stedfast, and be fixed on the truth. Be unmoveable, and not depart from the truth. Always abounding in the work of the Lord, never stopping, always obeying Him, always serving Him. God will never forget what we have done in our service for Him. Let us keep living the victorious life until the day He takes us home.
