Pastoral Letter 11 Apr 2021

My dear readers,

The Antichrist (Part 4):

HIS FINAL DESTRUCTION

Daniel 2:34-35: “Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces. Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.”

Daniel 2:44-45: “And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.”

The kingdom of the Antichrist will be destroyed by the LORD Jesus Christ. The kingdom of the Antichrist will be the final kingdom of man on earth. There will never be another period when sinful man will be permitted by God to rule his fellowmen. This understanding is affirmed when the Kingdom of Christ destroys the statue and grinds it to powder and the wind blows and carries it away. For example, when succeeding new empires arose, the previous ones remained. When the Babylonian empire was replaced by the Persian, the Babylonian kingdom continued to exist. This was true of the Persian Empire that was replaced by the Grecian empire. When the Grecian Empire was replaced by the Romans, Greece continued to exist as a nation, even till today. These kingdoms had their day in the sun but they lost the brightness of their super powers.

But when the Kingdom of Christ, as represented by “a stone was cut out without hands,” smites the image upon its feet, all the previous kingdoms will be broken into pieces together, i.e. destroyed together, and become like chaff that the wind carries away, and there will be no place found for them, i.e. they will cease to exist! This “stone” becoming a great mountain that will fill the whole earth is a description of the Millennial Kingdom of Christ in the new heaven and new earth of Isaiah 65:17-25 (not the one described in Revelation 21)! Our present world will be destroyed by the seven-trumpet and seven-vial judgments. God will recreate it just as He had to after the global flood in the days of Noah. At the end of the Millennium, this present earth and heaven will be completely destroyed. Then a brand new heaven and a brand new earth (Rev 21) will be created by God to be the eternal new home of all glorified believers in Christ.

Revelation 19:11-21: “And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great. And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.”

This passage of the Bible describes the destruction of the Antichrist and the False Prophet. The passage before this describes the destruction of the kingdom of the Antichrist. This is a battle that is not even a battle because it will be swift and very decisive. The Lord will come as the King of kings and Lord of lords. His weapon of choice has always been His trusted sharp Sword of the Spirit which is the eternal and perfect Word. The armies of the Antichrist will be destroyed at an instant. Then the attention of the LORD will be centred on the Antichrist and the False Prophet. They will both be cast alive, i.e. in their mortal bodies, into the Lake of Fire where the Dragon (the old serpent) will join them at the end of the Millennium. It seems that these two most evil despots will suffer a greater torment in the Fiery Lake in their mortal flesh than the sinners who die without Christ and are cast to the Lake of Fire after death. This is the just retribution of God for the millions if not billions that they deceived into worshipping the Antichrist as the Christ.

Daniel 7:26-27: “But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end. And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.”

After the end of the global kingdom of the Antichrist, the saints of the LORD will rule with Christ during the Millennial Kingdom. This is the everlasting kingdom in that after it ends, the new heaven and new earth of Revelation 21 will begin and which is not and never will be tarnished or tainted by sin. It is a real place where New Jerusalem is the eternal capital city of God. All of God’s people will be glorified and will be with God forever.
