The Antichrist (Part 1) 

The one-world ruler prophesied in the Bible is called the Antichrist. This is how God calls him for the Christian’s benefit. But when he appears, he will probably call himself the Christ, i.e. Messiah in Hebrew. If he were to call himself the antichrist, he will not be able to deceive anyone. The following are the relevant revelations of the Antichrist: 

His Country of Origin 

Daniel 2:31-33: "Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible. This image's head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass, his legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay." [Emphasis added] 

Daniel 2:39-43: "And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth. And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise. And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay. And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay." 

Fine gold represents the Babylonians as gold was the predominant metal of the Babylonians. His breast and arms of silver represent the Persian Empire. The Persian Empire began with the alliance of the Medes and the Persians, hence the two arms; and silver was the predominant material that the Persians favoured. His belly and thighs of brass represent the Greeks. His legs of iron represent the Romans. This means that the Antichrist’s kingdom will be the revived Roman Empire. His country of origin will be present day Europe. His rule will not be as united compared to the Roman Empire when it was ruled by Caesar. The Antichrist’s united rule will be a mixture of revived Rome and other nations like the EU of today. But he will be their leader. 

His Person 

Daniel 7:7-8: "After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns. I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things." 

Daniel 7:19-20:"Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet; And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows." 

He is a genius as revealed by the phrase “in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man.” He is eloquent. He is also powerful and boastful. He will lead the world through these carnal but very appealing qualities that the world adores.

Daniel 11:36-37: "And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done. Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all." 

He makes himself God-like. He blasphemes God. He is probably a Jew as he will not “regard the God of his fathers.” He has the gift of celibacy or he could also be a homosexual as he has no desire for women.

2 Thessalonians 2:1-4: "Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God." 

He is the “man of sin.” All men are sinners but he is called the “man of sin,” i.e. he is the epitome of all kinds of evil and wickedness. He is the “son of perdition,” i.e. the man characterized by damnation. All who follow or serve him will be damned like him. He makes himself into a god and the world will worship him. He becomes their saviour from famine, war and poverty! Is this not what the world is caving for today? 

1 John 2:18-19: "Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us." 

He will impersonate Christ. The prophecies in the Bible that are meant for Christ only will be hijacked by him. In this way, professing Christians will be deceived by him since he uses fulfillment of Scripture to support his blasphemous claims.

Revelation 13:1-2: "And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.” 

The name of BLASPHEMY will be on his head. This is to be understood figuratively. Those who are not born again will receive his blasphemies as truth! He is very ferocious. All who oppose him will be killed. He receives his power from the Dragon, i.e. the Devil, the god of this world. The Devil’s archangelic power becomes his source of power. 

Revelation 17:8: "The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is." 

He has a devilish and demonic personality as he is figuratively depicted as one who comes “out of the bottomless pit.” The unbelieving world and all professing believers will bow in worship to him. He will solve the world’s economic problems and usher in the peace of the Devil. The world will blindly accept him and make him the leader of the world.
